Traditionally Light up a Life is the time when we gather for a simple service of remembrance, thinking about those we love who are no longer with us, sharing our grief with others; but also celebrating the very special place they have in our lives. This year, with Covid very much at the forefront of all our minds, St Margaret’s will once again stream our Light up a Life service online, welcoming everyone in our community.
During this special online service, we will show the names – and honour the memories – of all those we have lost. I invite you and your family to join us for what will be a unique occasion – and to share the names of your own loved ones so they can be included in our service of celebration. All names received before Friday 26th November will be included.
We feel so lucky to have been given permission to record this special event in The Chapel at the Bishop’s Palace in Wells. The Right Reverend Ruth Worsley, Bishop of Taunton, will give an address during the service and there will be music and songs. At the heart of the service will be all the dedications we receive, and they will be shown on screen.
If you’re not able to join us at this time, don’t worry - the service will be available to watch on our website after the event has finished.
