Patrons and Celebrity Support

We are hugely grateful to those who pledge their support to St Margaret's Hospice Care. Their dedication and generosity enables us to continue to provide care to thousands of people affected by a life-limiting illness every year.

Our Patrons

Countess de Salis MBE

It’s absolutely wonderful what the staff and volunteers at the hospice do, and I’m very pleased and honoured to be helping in any way I can. I have always felt if you are as fortunate as I am in life, you want to give something back to people.

Lady Gass, DCVO

Lord-Lieutenant for Somerset - Mrs Anne Maw

The Right Reverend Declan Lang, Bishop of Clifton

Jane Barrie OBE DL - Independent chair - South of England Local Education and Training Board (LETB)

Popular BBC Radio Bristol Breakfast Show presenter Emma Britton

and Billy the Beagle - ‘Pets As Therapy’ (PAT) dog

Billy and I were delighted to be approached because we are both big supporters of the Hospice.  Billy loves meeting new people and helping them feel relaxed, and he especially likes a cuddle.  Cuddles are free and, I find, almost certain to cheer you up.

The Right Reverend Peter Hancock, Bishop of Bath and Wells

I very much enjoyed my visit to the Yeovil hospice and am hugely encouraged and inspired by the work St Margaret’s does amongst patients and their families at the most unimaginably difficult time of their lives. The charity’s staff and volunteers are inspiring and it was a great pleasure to meet some of them.

Michael Eavis CBE

I have a son who is a GP and he said to me that the work of the hospices was quite amazing. He knows about caring for patients who are ill, so I thought this is something that’s really worth supporting.

I am delighted to have been able to visit St. Margaret’s Hospice in Taunton, and to have found out more about the vital help and support they provide to local people across the county, meeting some of the incredible volunteers and staff who are doing so much to help care for patients and their families. I am very excited to be able to support them in any way I can and to help them raise as much money as possible to keep their much-needed services going.

Dr. Emily MacDonagh

Having spent time at St Margaret’s during my medical training, I know all about the fantastic work the staff and volunteers there do to make each day count for patients and their families.

Stanley Johnson

I know what a massive difference the care provided by St Margaret’s makes to thousands of patients and families across Somerset, so I hope as many people as possible will join me on Friday 28 September to celebrate our wonderful county while raising funds for this vital local charity.
