Payroll Giving

Making a regular contribution to St Margaret’s Hospice Care directly from your salary is one of the easiest and most efficient ways of supporting us.

Sign up to payroll giving

You decide the amount and the frequency of your donations, and then your gift will be automatically deducted from your salary before tax.

So, if you donate £5 a month, as a standard taxpayer it will only cost you £4, and as a higher taxpayer, it will cost you £3. It’s very flexible and you can change the amount you give and stop or freeze payments whenever you want.

Payroll giving also means that as a hospice, we know we have a regular source of income, which allows us to plan ahead.

Talk to your employer to see if they already run a payroll giving scheme – if they do, then it’s quick and easy to set up and will be dealt with by your payroll or HR team.

New to payroll giving?

If your company is new to payroll giving but you want to be able to support your employees with their fundraising efforts, all you have to do is register with an HMRC-approved payroll giving agency, such as Charities Trust, Charities Aid Foundation, and Charitable Giving. There is lots of information online about how to sign-up and any of the agencies listed above will be happy to guide you through the whole process.

Payroll giving is quick and easy to set up, and as a business, it demonstrates your commitment to the causes that are close to the hearts of your employees.

Feel free to give us a call to talk through the options and explore how we can support you and your employees in their fundraising efforts.
