The fundraising team at St Margaret’s Hospice Care is here to support you with your fundraising and to help make it as easy and fun as possible. Below, you will find a range of fundraising materials you can download and print off to help you get started, including a fundraising guide and A to Z of fundraising ideas!
If you organise fundraising as part of a group of friends and tend to do this more than once a year, or on the anniversary of a special occasion, or in memory of a loved one, why not think about starting a community fundraising group? We can talk you through how we can help set this up and offer you lots of support and advice to maximise your fundraising efforts.
However you decide to support the hospice, your commitment is hugely appreciated and means that we can continue to offer compassionate care to patients and families across Somerset.

Boost your sponsorship
1 in 3 people in Somerset will need the support of St Margaret’s Hospice Care in their lifetime. It takes around £15 million and we need to raise £12 million every year to continue to provide this vital care. That’s why we’re so grateful when someone chooses to take part in an event to raise money for us.
Here are some of our top tips to help you raise as much sponsorship money as you can…
- If you’ve already set up an online fundraising page, fantastic! If not, visit our JustGiving or Facebook fundraising pages to set up yours. Once it’s set up, share it as much as possible – post it on your social media pages and email it to friends, family and work colleagues.
- Download a sponsorship form for those who don’t want to donate online. Make it easy for your supporters to contribute! Keep track of your donors and maximise your fundraising efforts.
- Why not set up a sweepstake on the time you’ll complete your event? Even if your event is not timed, it’s easy to time yourself with a phone or watch. Ask people to donate £1 (or more, if they’re feeling generous!) to bet on your time and then the winner gets half of the proceeds.
- Lots of companies now take part in matched funding where they will match the amount of fundraising an employee does for a charity (up to a pre-determined level), thereby doubling your total. Ask your employer about matched giving.
