Volunteer for us

Volunteers are an essential part of the team at St Margaret’s Hospice and thanks to their generosity of time, energy and skills, we can care for over 5,000 people across Somerset, every year. Our volunteers have chosen to give us their time for many different reasons. For some it’s a chance to give something back and for others it’s a way of enhancing their CV.

During our Volunteer Recruitment Week we wanted to bring some of our roles to life, so you can see the difference our wonderful volunteers make and perhaps be inspired to join the team…

Could you be a hospice volunteer?

Help patients get to their appointments or keep our gardens and buildings looking beautiful. Bake tasty cakes or visit patients on the ward with tea and cake. Sort donations, help keep our shops looking great or serve customers on the till.

Lynne and Lesley's volunteering story

Lynne and Lesley may be twins but they were both inspired to start volunteering at the St Margaret's Hospice for different reasons.

Jess' volunteering story

A few months after her father Mike passed away, Jess saw an appeal for volunteers in the paper and decided to sign up as she wanted to give something back to the hospice which helped him.

Le-Anne's Story

Volunteering at St Margaret’s brought back Le-Anne’s confidence and gave her purpose, now she doesn’t ever want to stop helping.
