Bereavement Support

Everybody’s experience of grief is different and there is no ‘right’ way to grieve or cope. Following a bereavement, it is normal to experience a range of feelings as well as physical health symptoms.

People close to you may offer valuable practical support and talking to them can help you process the emotions of grief. However, many people need additional support during this difficult time.

For additional information and support please visit the link to read the Grief Support Guide from National Bereavement Alliance.

St Margaret’s Bereavement Support Service is available to anyone who is affected by the death of a loved one who has been cared for by St Margaret’s Hospice Care.

Bereavement is an individual experience and there is no right or wrong way to react. It can be a painful and difficult time and you may have thoughts and feelings that you did not expect, or none at all. The support of family and friends is often all that is needed, but there may also be times when you feel overwhelmed and find it hard to cope with everyday life.

St Margaret’s Bereavement Service also offers specialist information for all health, education and social care professionals who are supporting bereaved individuals, children and families who have been involved in the death of someone with a palliative diagnosis.

We offer a range of services including telephone and individual support, counselling via telephone, online or in person, bereaved partner groups and family support. The bereavement team will listen, giving you an opportunity to talk about your experience and any concerns you may have.

Please call 01935 709497 if you feel that our Bereavement Support Service can help you in any way.

Please note: Calls to and from the hospice may be recorded for training and quality purposes.
