Specialist In-Patient Unit
At our Taunton hospice, we offer a warm and welcoming space for patients with complex needs. Our specialist in-patient beds are designed to provide comfort and care in a homely environment. Our dedicated team of doctors, nurses, therapists, and volunteers work together 24 hours a day to deliver personalised specialist palliative care, always treating patients with compassion, respect, and sensitivity.
The St Margaret’s Hospice Care In-Patient Unit features single rooms and shared ward areas, ensuring each patient’s comfort and privacy. In addition to expert symptom management and pain relief, we take the time to care for emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being. We also offer a range of complementary therapies, such as aromatherapy, massage, reflexology, and diversional therapy, to help patients feel at ease and cared for.
We also provide symptom control, enabling many patients to return home safely and confidently. We collaborate with social workers, occupational therapists, and community teams to make this process as smooth as possible. We also provide training and support for families and carers to help them feel prepared and reassured.
For some patients, staying at the hospice for end-of-life care may be the best option. Whatever the circumstances, we strive to ensure each person feels at home with us from the moment they arrive.
In addition to outstanding care, we offer catering and hospitality services to enhance each patient’s stay. At St Margaret’s Hospice, we are committed to making every moment as comfortable, peaceful, and meaningful as possible.
