St Margaret’s Hospice appeals for supporters to open their gardens to the community

Last updated: January 12, 2022

St Margaret’s Hospice is on the search for green-fingered supporters who have stunning gardens to open them to the public this summer.

The hospice’s Glorious Gardens campaign raised over £11,000 last year and this year they are hoping to encourage even more gardens, allotments, farms, and orchards to open to the public.

Garden owners will open their gardens, asking for a donation from visitors which will go directly to St Margaret’s Hospice. Supporters can choose how long they’d like to open their garden for, it may be one day, it may be all summer long.

Open your beautiful garden to the public in aid of St Margaret's Hospice

Kerry Baillie, Community Partnerships Fundraiser at St Margaret’s, said: “We know how important our gardens are to the health and wellbeing of our patients and their families, providing places of relaxation as well as reflection. No matter how big or small your garden is we welcome any green space to showcase in our Glorious Gardens 2022 Campaign, from small courtyards to small holdings and everything in between.

“For years our loyal supporters have been opening their gardens to raise funds for us. There is something to interest everyone. We hope that this year we can get a lot of local support and show off how beautiful Somerset is!”
