Our annual Charity Dip is back!

Help St Margaret’s Hospice to celebrate our 45^th birthday!

Following the postponing of our New Year's Day Dip, we are pleased to announce that on Sunday 2 March 2025 we’ll be bringing our supporters together for a new Sapphire Birthday Dip! This will take place just a few days before our official 45th birthday!

Gather your friends and family and join us bright and early at Minehead Beach. We’ll get you registered and then after a short safety briefing it will be time to take plunge. 

All participants will receive a free hot drink after the dip – and Nelly’s Nosh will be on hand serving breakfast rolls for anyone who wants one! And, if you raise £45 or more for St Margaret’s Hospice you’ll receive a free bobble hat – in new Surf Blue colour for our Sapphire anniversary!

Event details

• Date: Sunday 2 March 2025
• Time: Registration 9.15am, Dip 10.15am
• Location: Minehead Beach, opposite Merlin’s amusements
• Cost: £7 per person (advance booking) or £10 per person (pay on the day) 
• Age limit: Children under the age of 12 are unable to take part 

Fundraising

Your £7 registration fee only covers our costs! To help us raise £10,000 from this event, please consider fundraising or making an additional donation.

• Raise or donate £45 or more to receive a FREE bobble hat for the dip, available in Surf Blue for our Sapphire anniversary year!
• Our top 10 fundraisers (at the time of the event) will be entered into a prize draw to win a dryrobe® Advance which has kindly been donated by dryrobe.

This year we would like to raise £10,000 which could pay for 100 Specialist Community Nurse visits for patients being cared for at home across Somerset. 

If you would prefer to make a donation rather than raise sponsorship, you can do so when booking your place. 

Terms and Conditions

Please note that you will be asked to confirm you have read and accept the Terms and Conditions to this event. Your safety is our priority, if sea and weather conditions prevents the Sapphire Birthday Dip from taking place, all participants will automatically be moved a secondary date. Please note event timings are subject to change at the discretion of the events organiser.

Suzanne & Holly's Story

"When New Year’s Day 2024 rolled around—the first without Bob—Suzanne and Holly needed something to pull them out of their grief. Christmas had been unbearably hard, and they desperately wanted a fresh start. That’s when they signed up for St Margaret’s New Year’s Day Dip at Minehead Beach. “We just wanted the year to be over,” Suzanne admits. “But after we signed up, we had a purpose, a reason to celebrate and have fun on January 1st.”
