Integrated Palliative Care Clinic
Many people with a life-limiting illness welcome a gentle and natural approach that can complement and work alongside their current treatment, offering the best possible quality of life.
Based in St Margaret’s Hospice Care, Taunton, this outpatient clinic offers a holistic, integrated medical approach to controlling symptoms and living well with life-limiting illnesses.
The clinic will focus on each person’s needs and this can be through help and advice on:
- Current medication and other ongoing treatments
- Acupuncture
- Natural medicines
- Activity and lifestyle advice
- Other complementary approaches to symptom control and living.
The clinic is run by an Integrated Medicine Specialist Doctor and can offer patients and carers known to St Margaret’s Hospice Care help with:
- Living well with illness
- Tackling ’difficult to manage’ symptoms
- Achieving the best possible pain control
- Reducing troublesome drug side effects
- Supporting patients and carers wishes to live and be cared for at home
- Co-ordinating care with GPs.
