Fundraising as a school, church or community group

Each year our community never fails to amaze us, as you come together in support of St Margaret’s, to raise many hundreds of thousands of pounds. Whether it’s as a group of friends hosting an event or a more formally organised group such as rotary or local church, we are overwhelmed by the proactive support that you provide. And as well as volunteering your time to raise funds, we are incredibly grateful for the brilliant job you do of raising awareness about the services we provide in the local community.  You are crucial to our work – and we simply couldn’t continue to provide our care without you!

If you would like to learn more about how you can join our community of fundraisers then please do get in touch. Perhaps you can help organise a collection at your local supermarket, organise a craft fair, or host a charity golf day. However you want to show your support we’d love to hear from you!

To let us know what you are doing or if you have any questions, please get in touch with our Fundraising Team at fundraising@st-margarets-hospice.org.uk or call 01823 345911.

Schools

We recognise that end of life and hospice care can be a difficult subject to tackle for children, but equally we know the importance of being able to talk about these subjects in order to help those who have been bereaved at a young age. Therefore St Margaret’s would love to hear from any teachers, pupils or parents across the county who would like to learn more about the hospice and how we can support your school community to fundraise.

As well as providing fundraising ideas and support, we are also happy to attend school assemblies to talk to younger students in an appropriate way so they can understand what we do, and provide insightful talks to older students, as well as provide resources to help the whole school fundraise for their local hospice. If you'd like to discuss how your school can support St Margaret's, please send an email to fundraising@st-margarets-hospice.org.uk.

harriets story st margarets hospice careWhy your support matters

Harriet woke up and her whole leg had become swollen, another trip to A&E and many, many tests the family was told Harriet was suffering from Primary Lymphoedema. Harriet's mum remembers, "...I remember phoning up and just asking 'Can you explain what is happening', it was then that I first spoke with Ali and within minutes I felt reassured."
