We are once again inviting the people of Somerset to brighten up their wardrobes, workplaces, and communities this October as its much-loved Wear it Yellow campaign returns from Monday 6 to Sunday 12 October 2025.
This annual event coincides with Hospice Care Week, a nationwide campaign that celebrates the vital role of hospices in their communities. This year’s theme is: “Hospice care is more than you think.” It’s a message that St Margaret’s is proud to champion, showing that hospice care goes far beyond physical support – it’s about what is important to that person, whether that’s a last trip to the beach, one last dance, a final visit from a donkey, or simply the taste of a favourite ice-cream.
St Margaret’s is so much more than beds in a building. 95% of our care is delivered out in the community, in people’s homes and living spaces – ensuring people are living well for as long as possible. This is only made possible thanks to the generosity and spirit of local people here in Somerset.
That’s where Wear it Yellow comes in. By donning your brightest clothes, baking lemon cakes, decorating your classroom or office, or even organising a sunflower-themed tea party, you can help raise the funds that keep these essential services running.
Hospice care really is more than most people think. It’s about supporting people living with life-limiting illness to live as well as they can for as long as they can.
