A Somerset business has donated £1,500 to St Margaret’s Hospice to help pay for a new cuddle bed.
Rob Silk and Rachael Martin from Strategic Solutions Chartered Financial Planners visited the hospice in Taunton last month to hand over a cheque towards the cost of cuddle bed along with the Mayor of Taunton, Sue Lees.
The Mayor facilitated the grant for the hospice as she contacted Strategic Solutions after seeing that they had funding available for local charities. The funding came from the company’s Community Foundation which supports financial education, wellbeing and gives back to communities across the South West including Somerset.
I am so pleased to have been able to help St Margaret’s Hospice to get a grant to help pay for a new cuddle bed. St Margaret’s is a wonderful local charity which does amazing work and I’m pleased I was able to help them to get some funding towards the cuddle bed, it will make such a difference to patients.”The Mayor of Taunton, Sue Lees
A cuddle bed costs £15,000 and with the donation from Strategic Solutions the hospice has raised £12,000 towards this cost.
Rob Silk from Strategic Solutions said: “We are so happy that we have been able to help St Margaret’s Hospice. The Community Foundation was set up to help local charities and communities across the South and it’s something that we are passionate about at Strategic Solutions. We want to give back to local communities who do such amazing work, and we know that this funding will help St Margaret’s help patients across Somerset.”
We would like to thank Strategic Solutions for their amazing donation and the Mayor of Taunton for facilitating this grant. This donation means that we are one step closer to buying a cuddle bed which will make such a difference to patients in our In-Patient Unit.”Liam Cottrell, Grants and Major Gifts Manager
