"One of the first things she asked me was if I had any goals I’d like to reach, and I replied immediately and said, ‘I want to play my saxophone again.'"
They took us in, showed us our room, said ‘this is a cuddle bed’, and showed us how it worked – as a single bed that folded out to a double. It was the first time we were all able to cuddle Julie properly since April 2021. It was lovely.
I knew that when we needed it the hospice would be there to support us and our children through the scariest and hardest time of our lives.
"We all knew Kevin was with us and was laughing, saying we were really living, and he was proud of us."
"Taking part in St Margaret's Christmas Tree Collection was a fun and really rewarding experience!"
“Carol was supported by St Margaret’s nurses and at home as her MND progressed and the team were an amazing support to us both."
"The staff at the Sunflower Centre helped me to get the confidence to be honest and open with my family about my illness. I found that the more I opened up to my children about my condition the easier things became."
"It’s a necessity to let these amazing people come and support you, so please support them. They made such a difference to me and many others like me and I want them to be there for others in the future.”
"I never would have thought about doing any of these activities before I went to the Sunflower Centre but doing these things has changed my life."
