Neil's story

Neil Todd is taking part in the St Margaret’s Hospice Firewalk event in February. We spoke to Neil about what inspired him to take part and why he would encourage others to do the same.

Neil said: “One of my aims for 2022 is to do more charity work, to give something back and I started looking around online to see what type of events I could do

“I spotted the St Margaret’s Firewalk, and I knew it was the challenge for me. Having worked at Yeovil District Hospital and being local to the area I have witnessed the amazing work the hospice does in my community, and I know they need donations to keep doing what they do!

“My mother-in-law was cared for by nurses at St Margaret’s and they did a wonderful job looking after her.

“I’ve never done a Firewalk before, but I am really excited to take part and    my friends and family are just as excited to come and watch me on the night.  So far, I’ve raised £135 for the hospice, which is great, but I am not stopping there and hope to raise around £200.  The Firewalk is just the beginning, I’ve already been looking at what else I can get involved in and the Jurassic Coast Challenge later on this year has caught my eye. I would encourage anyone who wants to take on a new challenge to join me and take part in the Firewalk for St Margaret’s Hospice, it’s going to be great fun!”
