We warmly invite you to join us for a special remembrance service at St John’s Church in Yeovil as part of our Light up a Life appeal.

Together we will honour and remember those we love through music, readings, quiet reflection and the gentle lighting of candles. Whether you are recently bereaved or remembering someone from years past, this service is open to all.

The service will be recorded and made available to watch on our website from Sunday 14 December, so you can join us from home if preferred.
All dedications made by Friday 5 December will be included in the video service. If you would prefer your loved one’s name not to appear, please let us know when making your dedication.

Not at all. The gathering is open to anyone wishing to remember someone special, regardless of your connection to the hospice.

We offer two Light up a Life events, each with a different feel so you can choose what’s right for you:

  • St John’s Church, Yeovil – Traditional Service
A faith-based Christian service with hymns, prayers and readings in a church setting. This gathering includes traditional worship elements and offers spiritual comfort to many attendees.

  • Monkton Elm Garden Centre, Taunton – Secular Gathering
A quiet, reflective event without religious content. It includes candle-lighting, readings and shared moments of remembrance in a peaceful, non-religious environment.

You’re welcome to attend either or both.

No, attendance is free, and Monkton Elm Garden Centre provides free parking. We do ask that you book your place so we can make sure there is enough seating, space, and accessibility support for everyone.
