What happens on the day
Once you’ve registered, you’ll gather on the beach for a short welcome and safety briefing. Then we’ll run into the sea together for the Dip! After your icy splash, you’ll receive a free hot drink to warm up.

No. This is a short, supervised dip close to shore. You don’t need to swim, but you should feel comfortable entering cold water.
Most people wear swimwear under fancy dress, plus warm layers for before and after. Bring:
- A towel
- Warm clothes to change into
- Hat and gloves for after.
Children over the age of 12 can take part if accompanied at all times by a responsible adult.
Yes, subject to availability. But it’s cheaper and quicker to register online in advance.
Absolutely! Volunteers are essential on the beach for marshalling, registration and warming up dippers afterwards.
