Playing our Weekly Prize Draw is a great way to help fund vital, compassionate hospice care for families in Somerset, while giving you a chance of winning one of our 27 guaranteed cash prizes up for grabs. In addition, we have a rollover prize which, if not won, increases by £250 every week (up to £10,000). This week’s rollover currently stands at £1,500! The draw takes place every Friday (we’ll always give advance notice if the draw day changes) and each chance costs just £1. The first prize is £1,000 with other cash prizes up for grabs every week. Each prize will be won every week apart from our rollover prize.
Our lottery software produces the outcome of the draw using a Random Number Generator and a winning number can only be selected once in the same draw. When we run the draw for our 3rd prize (rollover) our lottery software reduces the likelihood of winning that prize. If the rollover is not won the prize money is rolled over to the next week’s draw.
Every ticket purchased has a 1 in 435 chance of winning one of our weekly prizes (information based on the average number of players in draws between January 2024 to December 2024).
The exact chance of winning varies each week depending on the number of tickets sold.

69p from every £1 ticket goes directly towards caring for our patients. 15p pays for the cost of running the draw, and 16p covers the prizes*.

Please note: the Direct Debit payment method reduces our administration costs, which means even more of your £1 goes towards patient care. The minimum payment is £4.34 per month.
You can also buy a single ticket in any of our 31 St Margaret’s charity shops or at either of our hospice hub receptions and be entered into the next available Draw.

If you win a prize in the Weekly Prize Draw, there is no need to make a claim, we’ll automatically post a cheque with your winnings to your home address. We might telephone to check we have your correct details and let you know you’ve won, but we will never contact you by text message or ask you to provide your bank details.

If you purchased a winning ticket in one of our shops, there is no need to make a claim. A member of the Lottery team will call you to let you know you’ve won a prize and ask for your name and address so we can post you a cheque with your winnings. We will never contact you by text message or ask you to provide your bank details.
As a Weekly Prize Draw member, you will be entered into the draw upon receipt of your first payment, and then every draw as long as you have sufficient credit in your Weekly Prize Draw account. You must be over 18 years of age to play. This is a legal requirement. In our shops we have a Think 25 policy so if you are fortunate to look younger, you may get asked to provide identification to verify your age.
Yes, we have fundraisers working throughout Somerset promoting our Weekly Prize Draw and they might knock on your door, or you might see them working in or outside a local shop or at an event. Our fundraisers will always have an identification badge, and their clothes will normally have our logo.

When you subscribe to the Weekly Prize Draw, we may phone you to check your details, confirm your age, or if there are issues with your payment. We may also phone you if you win a prize.
You can cancel your membership at any time by calling the Weekly Prize Draw Office on 01823 365620 or emailing [email protected]. If you still have credit on your account, you will be entered into the draw until your credit expires, after which the membership will be cancelled.
We are aware that players who think they may have a problem with gambling might wish to self-exclude from the Weekly Prize Draw or our ad hoc raffles. Players wishing to self-exclude will be unable to re-join or receive any related marketing for a period of at least 6 months.
