Memory Tree

Your beautiful Memory Trees take pride of place in the reception areas of our hospices in Taunton and Yeovil. They offer a unique and meaningful way to remember a loved one or celebrate a special occasion - while supporting our vital services. 

A tribute to someone you love

By dedicating a leaf or sunflower, you create a lasting tribute that you can visit throughout the year, giving you a quiet moment of reflection and connection.

Dedicate a leaf or sunflower

Leaves and sunflowers can be dedicated to anyone – not only people cared for by St Margaret’s. You can also choose to use your own name, the name of a loved one, or a company name in celebration or as a gift for a family member or friend.

Your leaf or sunflower will stay on the Memory Tree for one year. During this time, you can easily visit whenever you wish to take a quiet moment to remember your loved one.

Towards the end of the year, you will be offered the opportunity to renew your leaf or sunflower for another year. If you decide not to renew, we will send it to you for safekeeping.

Sunflower

Sunflower

Symbolising warmth and devotion, our memory sunflowers are a beautiful way to honour a loved one. Available in two sizes, each sunflower offers space for a longer inscription.

Small Sunflower:
Suggested minimum donation of £600 for two years (£25 per month RG).
Annual renewal: £60 (£5 per month RG).
Engraving: up to 54 characters

Large Sunflower:
Suggested minimum donation of £1200 for two years (£50 per month RG).
Annual renewal: £60 (£5 per month RG).
Engraving: up to 54 characters

Sapphire Anniversary Leaf

This year you can dedicate a special edition Sapphire Anniversary leaf on the Memory Tree to someone special and celebrate our 45th year of delivering the very best care for our community.

Your dedication leaf will join others nominated by St Margaret’s staff and volunteers to mark our anniversary – remembering people who have played a special part in caring for our patients and developing the hospice.

How to create your memory leaf

You can choose to remember any loved one on the Memory Tree, not just people who have been cared for at St Margaret’s. To dedicate a leaf, please complete the form, selecting your preferred colour.

We ask for a suggested minimum donation of £120 (or £10 per month) to dedicate a leaf. Your dedication will help fund vital, compassionate hospice care for patients and their families across Somerset.

1. Complete the form

Choose your leaf colour or sunflower size, then add your inscription.

  • Leaf inscription: up to 26 characters
  • Sunflower inscription: up to 56 characters
2. Confirm your engraved message

We will confirm the information you have sent to us. Please check the spelling carefully, as this will be engraved exactly as provided.

3. Placing of your leaf

You are very welcome to come into the hospice and place your leaf on the tree or choose where you would like it to be placed. It’s a lovely opportunity to share memories with the hospice team. If you prefer, we can place your leaf for you, but please be aware that this could take up to 28 working days.

4. Renew or keep: the choice is yours ­

The leaf is yours to have on the Memory Tree for one year. We will write to you to see if you would like to have your leaf displayed for another year for £60 per year (or £5 per month RG). If you do not wish to renew your dedication, your leaf will be returned to you in a special keepsake box.
