By donating your time, you’ll help keep our shops running smoothly, offer a warm welcome to customers, and ensure we continue to make a difference in the community. Your contribution supports our mission to provide compassionate care and support to those facing a life-limiting illness.
What you will be doing
We have various different roles across both sites. Below are a few of the things you could be doing, just let us know what appeals to you.
- Moving furniture around the warehouse that will be used to refresh and create new displays on the shop floor
- Supporting the warehouse team in the storage of furniture from deliveries and preparing sold items for customer delivery and collections
- Sorting donated stock received from shops into seasonal categories and relevant departments for distribution to retail shops for sale to the public
- Unboxing and storing new goods stock in the warehouse and supporting the warehouse team with picking orders for distribution to retail shops
- Identifying and processing Gift Aid donations
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe warehouse environment
- Supporting with any other general warehouse tasks as required.
Skills, experience and personal qualities most suited to the role
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and experiences. For this role, we’re looking for people who:
- Are friendly, approachable, and enjoy working with others
- Have good communication and listening skills
- Are reliable and able to follow instructions
- Are comfortable working in a busy warehouse or retail environment
- Are willing to learn and take on a variety of tasks
- Are physically fit and able to lift items of varying weights (this doesn’t apply to all roles available).

What we need from you
- A minimum commitment of 6 months
- As part of our commitment to safer volunteer recruitment practices, volunteers interested in this role, will be required to provide one references and attend a taster session/informal chat
- Applicants will need to be 18+ to carry out this volunteer role.
