Ward Volunteer

As a Ward Volunteer, you will play a key role in enhancing the care being given to the patients by the multi-disciplinary team working within the In-Patient Unit.

Day: Shifts available through the week

Location: Taunton Hospice

What you will be doing

  • Providing non-medical support, ensuring the best possible service and care for the patient
  • Providing a welcoming and relaxing environment for patients and visitors
  • Providing hospitality services including drinks for patients and visitors, replenishing water jugs and assisting with serving meals
  • Social interaction with patients and visitors putting them at ease. Reporting any worries, concerns or fears expressed either by patients or visitors to the nurses.

What we need from you

  • As part of our commitment to safer volunteer recruitment practices, volunteers interested in this role, will be required to provide two references, a DBS & CDLIN check and attend an interview.
  • Applicants will need to be 16+ to carry out this volunteer role.
