Location: We urgently need more donation pot coordinators in West Somerset, South Somerset, Central Somerset, East Somerset, and the Mendips
Times: This opportunity is completely flexible; you can give your time as little or as often as you like
Roles: Network and chat with businesses and shops; help share our cause; distribute and collect donation pots; liaise with your local fundraising team
Why we need you
Our donation pots may be small, but they make a big impact and are a vital part of our fundraising efforts. The spare change dropped into a donation pot at a local shop, café or business quickly adds up and can help bring in a substantial amount of donations to help fund the care and support we provide to patients and families across Somerset.
This role would suit people who
- Enjoy meeting new people
- Are organised and able to keep simple records
- Are happy to work independently with minimal supervision
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle (essential for collecting and delivering donation pots)
- Are over 18.
What you will be doing
As a Donation Pot Coordinator Volunteer, you’ll support our fundraising efforts by helping to maintain and manage donation pots in your local area. This will include:
- Visiting local businesses and shops to help promote our cause
- Distributing, collecting and replacing donation pots
- Transporting donation pots securely to the hospice or fundraising office for emptying
- Building friendly relationships with local business owners and thanking them for their support
- Keeping basic records of where donation are placed and when they’re collected
- Identifying and suggesting new locations for pots to increase donations
- Acting as a positive ambassador for our hospice in the community and delivering promotional resources to various sites.
