Retail Gift Aid

When you donate a bag of clothes to one of our shops, it can make us up to £25, with gift aid added, this bag could be worth up to £31.

So how does it work?

Step One: Bag up any donations you wish to gift to St Margaret's care, and deliver to your local shop. This is where we will take the relevant details. If you have already signed up that's fine, if you haven't, you can complete step two.

Step Two: to sign up to gift aid! If you haven't already you just need to fill in a few details for us to gift aidyour items, you only have to do this once.

Step Three: we can then turn your donations into care for people facing a life-limiting illness in Somerset, whilst being able to receive an extra 25p on every pound you give.

Gift Aid is a tax incentive implemented by the Government in which allows for individuals who pay income tax to be able to increase their donations to charity without any cost to them. The beneficiary of the donation can claim an additional 25% of the value of the donation from HMRC.

The donor must complete our Gift Aid form that can be found on our website, to confirm that they are a UK taxpayer and are eligible to apply Gift Aid to their donations.

That's fine, all you have to do is to contact us at retailsupport@st-margarets-hospice.org.uk to let us know so we process you to 'opt out' of the gift aid system.
