This May, the Yeovil hospice was filled with anticipation. Hayley Mills, one of our wonderful volunteers, was preparing to say goodbye to something very special: her beloved dreadlocks.
After retiring early, lifelong Yeovillian Avril found renewed purpose by volunteering at our Yeovil Hendford shop. Nearly 20 years on, her story is one of community, creativity, and the lasting joy of giving back.
Hazel was cared for by St Margaret's at the end of her life. Her mum, Annie, and her childhood best friend, Dawn, are forever grateful for the care that she received.
“No one should have to go through this, but many people do,” says Alison. "I want to raise funds so more people can experience the care we did: so that more people can have a cuddle bed, like us.”
