Jeff Simmons-Smith from Dream Doors in Taunton (pictured right) volunteered at the 2023 Christmas Tree Collection with his brother-in-law, Roddy Gordon. We spoke to Jeff about his experience and why he is taking part again in 2024.
“Taking part in St Margaret's Christmas Tree Collection was a fun and really rewarding experience!
“We started off the morning with a delicious bacon sarnie from the St Margaret’s Hospice team which set us up for a busy day of collections, as we hauled Christmas tree after Christmas tree into the van. We must have collected about 40 trees and had such a laugh as we went on our collection route.
“When we dropped our trees off at the recycling point, we were greeted by big smiles from St Margaret’s volunteers who gave us a cuppa and some biscuits to keep us fuelled throughout the day!
"It was a wonderful way to spend a weekend supporting our local hospice and we’re looking forward to taking part again next year.”
