The Gardens

Lower Sheeplands

Lower Sheeplands is a unique, steeply terraced garden, incorporating both a traditional style garden and a wildflower meadow. The garden sits on a hillside with dry stone walls holding back the soil to provide narrow paths among equally narrow flower beds. There is plenty to admire, including three ponds, a waterfall, a raised bed vegetable plot, and exotic planting on the kitchen patio.

St Catherine’s Crescent

This garden has been lovingly created by the owner, filled with shrubs and perennials providing colour and interest throughout the year. Although it is a modest plot, this special garden shows what can be achieved with creative planting and structures. There are two seating areas, including one nestled away at the top of the garden, perfect for watching the birds. In the front garden, take a moment to admire the wedding cake tree (Cornus contraversa), which will be at its most spectacular in June.
