Volunteers are an essential part of the team at St Margaret’s Hospice and thanks to their generosity of time, energy and skills, we can care for 4,900 people across Somerset, every year.
Our volunteers have chosen to give us their time for many different reasons. For some it’s a chance to give something back and for others it’s a way of enhancing their CV.

Support our Spiritual Care Coordinator and contribute to the care given to patients and those important to them.
Our bereavement support team of trained volunteers provide on-going support to families, carers and close friends who have been affected by the illness and death of a St Margaret’s patient.
This is a rewarding role working with palliative care patients, carers or bereaved relatives.
Flowers have a huge part to play at St Margaret's and our patients really appreciate beautiful displays and arrangements.
If you can offer an hour or a day a year, or want to volunteer on a more regular basis, then come and volunteer for us! We host exciting events such as walks, runs, and concerts and many more.
As a garden volunteer you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of garden settings from the hospice inpatient units in Taunton and Yeovil to smaller garden sites and even at some of our retail shops.
Our In-patient Units need Maintenance Assistants to help with general maintenance and decorating. Needed in Taunton and Yeovil.
Our shops could not run without volunteers. The roles they carry out include serving customers, working behind the till, and sorting donations, to pricing and displaying stock.
Contribute to the strategic governance of St Margaret's Hospice Care.
Offer a listening ear, provide information and help signpost to other services.
