Support Group / Listening Volunteers Support Groups seek to provide a warm, friendly confidential environment in which users can share experiences with others in a similar situation. St. Margaret’s runs a volunteer led support group at Quantock House every week for two hours, where anyone affected by a life limiting illness can drop in for free and confidential information and advice. We also require volunteers at our Support Groups, which is a community service from St. Margaret's, running weekly support groups in Taunton, Minehead and Yeovil. The groups offer support to people at any stage of a life-limiting illness, which includes patients, their carers, families and friends, from initial diagnosis onwards. Our volunteers are specifically trained to listen, support and signpost patients, their carers, families and friends, from diagnosis onwards. Volunteers working within this service will make and serve refreshments and provide support to the professionals. Volunteers will receive appropriate training.
