Jonathan Langdon was elected as chairman of St Margaret’s Hospice Care at a meeting of our Trustee Board on Wednesday 11 December. He has previously served as our vice chairman and, more recently, acting chairman.
In his professional life, Jonathan is chairman and founding partner of Milsted Langdon Chartered Accountants, one of the largest accountancy firms in the South West, with offices in Taunton, Yeovil, Bristol, Bath and London. Outside of work and his commitments to St Margaret’s, he is a governor at Richard Huish Sixth Form College and a director of Passion for Somerset.
Jonathan’s experience as chairman of our finance committee, vice chairman of the board, as well as acting chairman, has set him in a strong position to undertake the role of chairman permanently.
Jonathan succeeds Jennifer Board, who has retired from our board of trustees at the end of her four-year term as chairman. He has extensive professional and personal connections throughout Somerset, and we believe his clear and strong leadership over the last six months will make him an ideal successor to Jennifer.
We would like to thank Jennifer for her strategic leadership and commitment to St Margaret’s during seven years of voluntary service as a trustee, including the past four years as chairman, and wish her all the best for the future.
