The Great Somerset Cycle 2020 - Terms and Conditions

  • All participants must complete and return a registration form online.
  • This event is open to anyone over the age of 12.
  • Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult registered for the event.
  • Parents and guardians are advised to consider their child before booking. Parents are responsible for their child/children's safety.
  • The booking fee is non-refundable and contributes to the cost of staging the event.
  • We ask that those taking part raise sponsorship in aid of St Margaret's Hospice Care, although we do not ask for a minimum sponsorship. Please note however that sponsorship is the main revenue income of this event.
  • The event has been organised with safety being paramount but, by entering the Great Somerset Cycle, you do so entirely at your own risk.
  • This event is not a timed event.
  • Please ensure that you wear appropriate clothing and appropriate footwear.
  • Please ensure that your bike is suitable for this event and the distance being travelled. There will be mechanical support on the day.
  • Participants must abide the Highway Code Rules for cyclists at all times: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code/rules-for-cyclists-59-to-82
  • By registering for this event you are agreeing that any official photographs taken can be used by St Margaret's Hospice Care for any promotional purposes. If you would like to take part in this event and want to opt out of being in any official photographs please contact us after booking.
  • St Margaret's Hospice Care have taken all reasonable steps to eliminate the chance of injury but there is a certain minimal risk in every activity and you should withdraw from the event if you have any doubts. St Margaret's Hospice, its employees, agents and volunteers accept no liability whatsoever to participants or spectators in respect of any loss, damage or personal injury which may be sustained in the course of this event other than personal injury (including death) caused by our negligence. Liability cannot be accepted for any damage, injury or loss arising from the negligence of participants (whether through failure to observe the rules of the event or otherwise).
