Gary Gould from Yeovil is taking on the South West Coastal Path in aid of St Margaret’s Hospice Care and is on the search for people to join him along the way. He will set off to walk the first part of the coastal path on Thursday, 27 October from Lynton and has plans to complete the rest of the 630-mile route over the next few years.
Gary was inspired to start fundraising for the hospice after seeing both of his grandmother’s being supported by St Margaret’s.
Will you join Gary on his coastal walk?
“St Margaret’s cared for both of my grandma’s before they passed away,” Gary said.
Gary is also taking on the walk for his father who is currently receiving treatment for cancer through Yeovil District Hospital at the St Margaret’s Yeovil Hospice and for his father-in-law who suffers from Alzheimer’s.
“I’ll be donating any proceeds I raise to St Margaret’s Hospice and The Alzheimer’s Society, two worthy causes which are close to my heart,” Gary added. “St Margaret’s not only helped my family, but they have been so supportive of me doing this walk which has been amazing.
“I am looking for people to join me along different stages of the route and support me on my journey. It would be fantastic to get to know some new people and support a good cause so if you fancy joining me, please get in touch with me.”
Gary will be walking from Lynton to Ilfracombe from October 27 to November 2 and on February 20, 2023, he will be trekking from Woolacombe to Barnstaple. If you would like to join Gary, please call him on 07512 829669.
