Alpacas, live music and children’s games will be among the attractions at our Taunton hospice's summer fete.

Everyone is welcome to join in the fun on Saturday, June 8. The event will feature glitter face painting, football and skittles games, a barbecue, tea room and a variety of stalls.

There will also be the chance to walk an alpaca, courtesy of Stoke Wood Alpacas, as well as performances by the Sunflower Singers, Taunton Deane Male Voice Choir, Wellington Silver Band, Skintight Samba and Wellington Majorettes.

We're hoping to repeat the success of last year’s fete, which raised over £4,000 to help us care for people in Somerset who are facing a life-limiting illness.

Kara Frampton, community fundraiser, said: “We’re hoping to bring the community together to have fun and see what brilliant work the hospice does. We had a great time with more than 300 people at last year’s fete, and we would love to see even more people this year.”

The fete is taking place from 11am to 3pm at St. Margaret’s Hospice in Heron Drive, Bishops Hull, TA1 5HA. Entry is £2 for adults and free for children under 14. Free parking will be available at Bridgwater and Taunton College, with a free shuttle bus to the hospice.
