Description

In a supportive environment you will explore evidence and recent discussions about the best way to support people experiencing bereavement and grief. We will provide you with opportunities for experiential learning and skills practice.  You will be invited to invest in the group’s growth and development through active participation and by sharing your own experiences and learning.

We have designed this course for those who have a role supporting people who are experiencing loss and bereavement.  

By the end of this course you will be able to: 

  • Understand the theory and evidence base for effective bereavement  support
  • Explore the concepts of self and self-awareness in relation to loss
  • Identify the legal and ethical boundaries for safe client centred bereavement support
  • Understand the concepts of coping styles and the support needs of bereaved clients
  • Understand your own limitations and support needs, to use supervision more effectively.
